BATTLE OF THE BLING: TOP FIVE NEW CELEB ENGAGEMENT RINGS

With so many young celebrities getting engaged of late E! decided to rank their engagement rings.

Coming on top is Hillary Duff with the 14-carat princess-cut diamond her NHL boyfriend reportedly bought for $1 million.

Coming in a close second is Carrie Underwood. The yellow diamond ring that her hockey player man, Mike Fisher, slipped on her finger has been estimated to be worth between $150,000 and $800,000.

Nicole Richie was third, Kristen Bell, Emily Blunt and Katy Perry tied for fourth while Anna Paquin was in fifth.

HAVE YOU SEEN THE NEW PENNY?… (IN TIMES LIKE THESE, YOU WILL)

The penny has a new design.

The US Mint changed the design for the “tails” side of the 2010 Lincoln Cent.

The penny’s new side features a union shield with 13 vertical stripes and a scroll draped across reading “One Cent.”

The stripes represent the 13 original states and the banner signifies “a single union in support of the federal government.”

(The design was chosen from 18 candidates and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner made the final call.)

Simon Vs. Ellen

TMZ reports that Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres aren’t getting along, and the tension is building.

“American Idol” sources say the judges aren’t even trying to hide it. Ellen can’t stand what she believes is Simon’s cruelty toward contestants. And, Simon actually enjoys rubbing her the wrong way.

It all started badly when Simon showed up late for Ellen’s first week of ‘Idol’ taping and made her wait around. The tension has gotten worse.

SHAME ON THEM!!  Talk about SELFISH!  According to a new survey 30 % of men will not do something EVERYONE should do….   and why you ask?  Because they just DON’T WANT TO.  Hmmmphh.  I gotta say, that percentage actually surprised me, and obviously not in a good way

cocky guy

Men are often perceived as selfish, but a Men’s Health survey shows their more generous side. Two-thirds of American households chip in, donating an average of $2,000 annually. But is cash the best contribution, or is your time more valuable?

  • 52% of men consider themselves equally charitable as the average guy.
  • 36% of men spend from 1 to 4 hours a week volunteering.
  • 46% of men volunteer to help others.
  • 36% of men say they do not volunteer because they are too busy with work.
  • 30% of men say they do not volunteer because they have on desire.
  • 77% say they would support a community service requirement for high school students.
  • 75% say they would not support a mandatory 1 year stint in a civic program for everyone.
  • 29% of men think generous women are hot.
  • 59% of men think it’s a nice bonus if a woman is generous.
  • 67% of men would rather have $10,000 donated in their name than win $1,000 for themselves.
  • 49% of men think celebrities and athletes donate to charity to boost their images.
  • 51% of men think stealing from a charity is worse than stealing from wealthy people or institutions.

Well, since we all have to do it…  it can’t ALWAYS be pleasant, right?  I’m sure there are one or two things about work that don’t sit right with you.  Maybe your co-workers are hygenically challenged (ALWAYS a problem lol) or perhaps someone has ganked your lunch from the common company kitchen (For which the suitable punishment in my opinion would by hanging lol) but Women’s Health found out what MOST people believe truly sucks about the workplace and the winner is….

meetings

Women’s Health asked women, “What is the biggest thing that sucks at work?”

  • 36.6% said pointless meetings
  • 26.3% said office gossip
  • 19.4% said e-mail overload
  • 10.4% said phone calls
  • 7.3% said social networking online

WHAT’S WITH THE FACE, ANGIE?

A close up picture of Angelina Jolie’s face has sparked new rumors that the actress has gone under the knife. The shot shows what appears to be two large tucks of skin underneath her right ear, which has led to speculation that Jolie has had a “ribbon lift,” a $6,000 procedure that involves having a small cut made near the earlobe in order to implant an absorbable ribbon.  It is supposed to make the skin of the neck appear tighter.

STUDENT GETS 5-DAY SUSPENSION FOR SLAMMING HIS TEACHER ON FACEBOOK

A mother in Oak Forest, Illinois is considering suing their son’s school district after he was suspended from his high school for posting comments about a teacher on his Facebook page.

The boy is a sophomore and got a five-day suspension.

The son and the teacher had been clashing since the beginning of the school year so the boy made a Facebook fan page for “anyone who has had a bad experience or plain dislikes” the teacher. The page also referred to the teacher in a derogatory way.

The school said that if the boy completes a program that deals with anger management and making better choices, he can have three of the five suspension days removed from his record.

But his mother feels the school is wrong because her son’s comments were posted on his own time, using his own computer and in his own home.

She doesn’t think the school has the authority to give that kind of punishment.

GOLD MEDALIST CONFIRMS HE’S DATING A GOLD MEDALIST!

Talk about an Olympic hookup. Gold medal-winning figure skater Evan Lysaceck has confirmed rumors that he’s dating gold medal-winning gymnast Nastia Liukin. Evan tells People that he met Nastia in October, 2008 while performing on the NBC special Skating & Gymnastic Spectacular, and they’ve been dating since last summer. And even though they compete in different sports, Evan says Nastia’s experience at the summer games helped him with his competition. “She’s been through it herself,” he said. “If I’m having a bad day, she tells me to have faith and keep going. Sometimes your support system has more faith in you than yourself. And when she tells me things are going to be fine, I really believe it.”

JUST THE THOUGHT of it makes my skin crawl…  someone breaking into your home.  Going through your things,

your clothing, your pictures, momentums, all your private belongings.  The one problem: YOU LET THEM DO IT!

Yes, you do.

This is where the information age has gone too far… and is obviously too complex for some to understand.  With the ever increasing use of social sites like Twitter and Facebook (of which I use and LOVE both)  and even Craigslist…  It has become far easier for someone with bad intentions to make it into your life… and maybe your home.  So today I was pleasantly surprised to find a site on the internet that actually helps educate users of such social sites on how to do so without putting themselves in danger, and I PRAY you all pass it along!

YOU MUST CHECK OUT PLEASE ROB ME !

It’s an age old question and an argument I am certain every generation gets into at one point or another.  As human beings we are generally competetive…  EVEN when it comes to laziness.  So, who wins the lazy contest?    lazy kity

SO, who’s ”can-do” spirit has been replaced by a “don’t wanna do” spirit?  The U.S. has finished atop TheDailyBeast.com’s list of the 24 laziest countries.  The survey ranked developed nations in four categories, including daily calorie consumption, number of hours spent watching TV per day, percentage of people who play sports in their free time and amount of time spent online.  Here’s the list:

1. United States
2. Canada
3. Belgium
4. Turkey
5. Great Britain
6. Poland
7. Mexico
8. France
9. Germany
10. Portugal
11. Denmark
12. Spain
13. The Netherlands
14. Ireland
15. South Korea
16. Italy
17. Japan
18. Norway
19. Australia
20. Finland
21. Austria
22. New Zealand
23. Sweden
24. Switzerland

and on that note, it’s time for me to hit the gym kids! :)

OK no disrespect if you are one of the thousands who play Farmville but…i just dont get it.
Granted i tried it ONCE. Just to see what all the commotion was about and i got bored in about 3 minutes and then played a REAL video game instead.
One of the things i dont even like about REAL farming is all the hard work. So the last thing i want to do is simulate all that hard work when i cant actually do the real work.
College kids are playing this on their Laptops in class, People are playing this on their computers at work, Others will play this on their phones while attempting to spend quality time with their family, friends, BF or GF, etc.
And for what? What benefit do you get out of it?
Its not like youre winning REAL money.
Its just…Farmville?

So what if there was a TV Commercial out there promoting Farmville? I wonder what it would be like?
Think of those exciting, high-octane commercials for all those fast-paced video games…and then think of Farmville.
And this could be what its like…

FARMVILLE COMMERCIAL

As you may have noticed the tail-end of this commercial has a few things like outtakes and some ’subscribe to my Youtube page’ propaganda.
This is the work of a guy named Tobascus (aka Toby) who apparantly has a thing for making Ad Parodies like the Farmville one you just saw (which is by far his most popular one)
He also did one for another very-popular game Mafia Wars here too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6kNjC50Bz…

Whether you have played these gigantic wastes-of-time or even if you just heard about them (thru annoying postings on peoples’ Facebook pages) im sure you still found this video as entertaining as i did.
And to think…the time it took for this guy to shoot, edit and post this video he could have had 30 acres of beets grow in his little Farmville video game. Oh Well!
