`AMERICAN IDOL’… SURPRISE?

The paint store clerk is the next ‘American Idol’.
Lee DeWyze was crowned last night, over Crystal Bowersox in the contest’s ninth season.
There was just a 2 percent voting gap between them coming into the finale. Lees’ victory was based on votes cast after Tuesday’s performance show.
The total number of votes cast in the finale weren’t announced by host Ryan Seacrest. And Fox didn’t explain why.
Could it be… a lack of audience interest in this season’s talent?… And lower viewership numbers?
Last night was Simon Cowell’s last appearance as a judge. A montage of Simon highlights was shown and comedian Dane Cook came on stage to sing “Simon Says,” and to crack a few jokes.
KANYE MOMENT: Dane Cook’s Simon Cowell tribute hijacked by loser!
Dane Cook was halfway into his bit when some of the infamous losers from past auditions joined him on the stage. One of them grabbed Cook’s microphone and screamed “This is my Kanye West moment!”
The contestant, a male with a shaved head, had been featured in an earlier montage of terrible singers Simon had blasted on the show.
He went on for a few more seconds onstage before he was cut off by Tatiana del Toro, a contestant from Season 8.
“Idol” cut abruptly to commercial.
MORE:
Ex-judge Paula Abdul showed up, as well.
She told Cowell, “`American Idol’s’ not gonna be the same without you. But as only I can you, it will go on.”
Simon said, later, “I didn’t think I was going to be this emotional and I genuinely am. … Everybody asks who’s going to replace me, who going to be the next judge.” He told the audience, the truth is, “you guys are the judge of this show and you’ve done an incredible job over the years.”
Kris Allen, last year’s winner, sang “The Truth,” with Carrie Underwood, Michael McDonald, Christina Aguilera, Hall & Oates, Robin and Barry Gibb, Janet Jackson and Joe Cocker on the list of performers as well.
50 CENT LOOKS LIKE 1 CENT…HE DROPPED 54 POUNDS FOR A MOVIE!

It looks like 50 Cent is really serious about becoming an actor because he is going all out for his new movie. Curtis Jackson dropped 54 pounds to play a football player with cancer in the movie, “Things Fall Apart.”
50 basically starved himself on a liquid diet. Fortunately, he’s back on tour and getting back into shape.
Let’s hope the movie turns out to be worth the work…
JULIANNE HOUGH ‘DANCING WITH THE SEACREST’ QUESTION!… (DIDN’T DENY DATING HIM)

Julianne Hough was on a TV morning show talking about her upcoming movie Burlesque when she was asked about rumors she’s dating Ryan Seacrest.
HOW TO REALLY SAVE YOUR SKIN IN THE SUN THIS SUMMER
Here are 10 tips to save your skin from the sun this summer:
1. For prolonged sun exposure, like when playing golf or tennis or spending time at the beach, use three layers of sun protection to get maximal effects. First, apply an antioxidant to protect against free radical damage. Then, layer on a chemical sunscreen. This acts as a second line of defense for any rays that seep through the top layer. That top layer should include a zinc oxide sunblock which will reflect most rays away from the skin’s surface.
2. Look for sunscreens with both UVA and UVB protection. The best ingredients to look for are:
* UVA blockers: Mexoryl, Helioplex 360, active photobarrier complex, avobenzone
* UVB blockers: Homosalate, Octosalate, octylmethoxycinnamate
* UVA and UVB: Octocrylene, zinc oxide, titanium dioxide.
3. Reapply sunscreen every hour. You’ll need enough to fill a shot glass to cover your whole body. If you don’t want your hands to get sticky, try using a stick sunscreen.
4. Use ½ a teaspoon of sunscreen on your face. Measure it! Most people use ¼ of that amount and are not getting adequate protection. Every morning in the summer, substitute your regular moisturizer for one containing a sunscreen.
5. If sunscreens feel oily on you, try applying a mattifying gel underneath to absorb the excess oil.
6. Wear specially manufactured sun-protective clothing and hats, which can block out 97 percent of the sun’s rays and never need to be reapplied. Wear a hat and sit under an umbrella when possible. UV coated sunglasses are also important to protect the eyes and surrounding skin.
7. Take a fern-extract supplement before sun exposure to reduce UV damage. Drinking caffeinated green tea and eating blueberries and pomegranate can also help.
8. If you burn easily, avoid using products that have glycolic or salicylic acid the week before you go in the sun. These chemicals increase your sensitivity to the sun and could cause stinging when you sweat. Also, be careful when taking blood pressure medications or antibiotics. They can make you more sun sensitive to the sun and more likely to burn.
9. Be careful if you drink margaritas or other citrus drinks outside. Limes and figs can make your skin more sun sensitive and lead to burns. Wash away any lime juice that contacts your skin immediately.
10. Schedule outdoor activities in the early morning or evening to avoid the midday sun when rays are strongest. If you do get sunburned, soothe your skin with replenishing cream and take one or two ibuprofen every 4 hours. An omega 3 fatty acid supplement could help decrease inflammation as well.
