ELLEN DEGENERES IS OUT AT “AMERICAN IDOL”… JENNIFER LOPEZ IN?…. STEVEN TYLER, TOO?

Ellen DeGeneres is leaving “American Idol” after just one season as a judge. Ellen admitted it wasn’t the “right fit.”

Ellen Tweeted: “Dim the lights. I’ve voted myself off American Idol. The decision came a couple months ago. It was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings. I am very grateful for the year I had. I am a huge fan of the show and will continue to be.”

She also said in a statement:

“A couple months ago, I let Fox and the ‘American Idol’ producers know that this didn’t feel like the right fit for me. I told them I wouldn’t leave them in a bind and that I would hold off on doing anything until they were able to figure out where they wanted to take the panel next.

“It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I bargained for. I also realized this season that while I love discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings. I loved the experience working on ‘Idol’ and I am very grateful for the year I had. I am a huge fan of the show and will continue to be.”

ENTERTAINMENT SHOWS SILENT ON ANGELINA BOOK…. AFRAID OF A BRANGELINA BACKLASH

WE have been dishing details from Angelina Jolie’s upcoming unauthorized biography-- but TV entertainment shows have steered clear of the gossip.

Andrew Morton’s “Angelina: An Unauthorized Biography” is available tomorrow (Saturday), yet shows like “Extra,” “Access Hollywood,” “Entertainment Tonight” and “The Insider” have ignored it.

One publicity director has a theory: Entertainment news shows are worried about losing access to Angelina or Brad Pitt – both among Hollywood’s biggest “gets”. The shows are being intimidated into ignoring the story.

(The “Angelina” books includes the neglect she suffered as an infant by her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, and affairs with Leonardo DiCaprio, Ralph Fiennes, and others.)

SIX THINGS TO ALWAYS BUY GENERIC

A  new report says there are a half dozen grocery items you should always buy generic, because there’s very little difference other than cost.

From the website Walletpop.com… the products you should always buy generic. They include:

    * Over the counter medicine, like acetominophen. With Tylenol recalled right now, you almost have to buy generic.
    * Pantry staples, like flour, sugar, and salt: Can you tell the difference? Didn’t think so.
    * HDTV cables: Many magazines and websites say a $9 digital cable works as well as a $99 one.
    * Alkaline batteries: Even Consumer Reports says generics can work as well, often at half the price.
    * Bagged salad: Lettuce is lettuce.
    * Breakfast cereal.

THERE’S A RIGHT WAY TO ARGUE…. AND IT CAN BE GOOD FOR RELATIONSHIPS

Every couple fights… but, research shows it’s where, when, what tone of voice, what words we use, and whether we hear each other out fairly that’s critical in a fight.

If we argue poorly, we may end up headed for divorce court. But, if we argue well, we actually may improve our relationship.

One psychologist’s research shows that couples who had negative communication before marriage, like criticizing each other’s opinions, rolling their eyes, and leaving the room, were more likely to end up in divorce court.

Research also shows that the biggest issues couples argue about are money, sex, work, kids and housework.

Here are some tips:

DO IT: The problem will not go away if you don’t talk about it.
COOL OFF: Pick a time when you can return to the argument with less emotion-ideally, within 24 hours and in person.
DON’T ASSUME: You probably don’t know exactly what your partner is thinking, even if you think you do.
FLEXIBILITY ISN’T WEAKNESS: You can change your position without “losing.”
SEE THE OTHER SIDE: This is the best way to downgrade a heated conflict into a momentary disagreement.
HOLD HANDS: Sit close, make eye contact, which can help make your interactions more positive.
ARGUE IN FRONT OF THE KIDS: Do this only if you’re modeling good argument techniques.
AGREE TO DISAGREE: Recognize that you are in a partnership. Look for the middle ground.
CHOOSE YOUR WORDS CAREFULLY: You can never take them back.

KARA DIOGUARDI OUT AS ‘AMERICAN IDOL’ JUDGE

Nigel Lythgoe is returning as executive producer of ‘American Idol‘, and there may be only three judges at the table.

Sources say Nigel will take one of the seats himself, with the other two going to Randy Jackson and Ellen DeGeneres.

That would mean, Kara DioGuardi is out, as judge.

(Lythgoe left “Idol” in 2008 to focus on “So You Think You Can Dance.” In April, he told the press he thought “Idol” had become too much about the judges and not enough about the music.)

Ellen DeGeneres has a multiyear contract, and Randy Jackson is signed with “Idol” through 2011. DioGuardi was the only one who had a year-to-year contract with the show, and as of yet, she hasn’t signed one for this season.

A ‘ZEDONK’

A zedonk is attracting attention at a Wildlife Preserve in Dahlonega, Georgia.

It’s a cross between a donkey and a zebra.

The week-old animal has a zebra father and donkey mother, and it has black stripes on her legs and face.

The preserve’s general manager said the foal has a zebra’s instincts. She sits up instead of lying on her side, as if she’s staying alert for predators.

Donkeys and zebras don’t usually mate, but zedonks turn up occasionally.

In about two weeks, the zedonk will begin roaming the property with the rest of the animals.

7.26.10

Ok let me start by saying that the movie ‘Fight Club’ is probably up there as one of my favorite films of all time. Thats not unusual, im a guy. its a very testosterone-driven movie filled with lots of action and witty quotes. There’s many others out there who would also go on record and admit the same thing about that movie.
Even girls too i know, love the movie, but chances are its more likely for other reasons (Brad Pitt taking his shirt off, Edward Nortons hair etc.)
Whether youre a fan of the flick or not (or even if you have never seen it) its time for a new ERA of ‘Fight Club’ to come about…but this one being…for girls.
Thats right…take all the characteristics of the ORIGINAL ‘Fight Club’ movie but make all the main characters ladies rather than men. Oh yea and set it back into the 1800’s as well. Can a heavy-driven story such as ‘Fight Club’ survive as a chick flick? and a period piece?
What IF Jane Austen (author of ‘Sense & Sensibility, Emma, Pride & Predjudice) wrote ‘Fight Club’? or did her own adaptation of it?
It would probably go something alot like this…

JANE AUSTEN’S FIGHT CLUB

For fans of Jane Austen’s work (not i) the main characters are all women from her novels/movies. The movies main character Lizzie Bennet (from ‘Pride & Prejudice’) takes on the Brad Pitt ‘Tyler Durden’ role. Along with other popular characters from her works Fanny (from ‘Mansfield Park’) takes on the ‘Edward Norton’ role along with cameos from other ladies like The Dashwood sisters (from ‘Sense & Sensibility) and more.
So that woule be how it would go down had the 1800’s writer penned the book and/or directed the movie. And strangely enuff, as much i cannot STAND movies like Jane Austen’s…i would curiously go and see it.
Its a shame the trailer is fake. I could really look forward to another ‘Fight Club’ movie right about now.

‘GLEE’ TO DO THE ‘TIME WARP’

The writers of “Glee” are planning a “Rocky Horror Picture Show” episode.

Series co-creator Ryan Murphy says his writers want to do “The Time Warp” in the new season, and were currently working on it.

As for the Britney Spears episode, Murphy said that Matthew Morrison’s Will Schuester would be highly against doing Britney songs because Morrison said once that he didn’t want to sing her tunes on the show.

But they plan on “doing it in a fun, hallucinogenic way”.

IS YOUR BOYFRIEND READING YOUR FACEBOOK MESSAGES!

According to a recent survey put out by guys are a nosy — more than a few admitted to snooping around their partners’ inboxes.

The website collected the responses of more than 100,000 dudes.

When asked if they had ever read a partner’s Facebook messages, e-mail or other electronic correspondence, the men answered:

    * Yes, but only with my partner’s knowledge: 23.51%
    * Yes, but only because it was open on the desktop: 13.32%
    * Yes, I broke into my partner’s e-mail or messaging account: 8.90%
    * No, but I would if I suspected my partner was up to something: 21.54%
    * No, I respect my partner’s privacy: 32.73%

Take comfort, though, ladies and gents — guys are decidedly not down with actual stalking.

When asked, “If you had the ability to, would you track your partner’s physical movement (with a GPS implant, for example)?” only 3.56% said “Yes,” while 79.28% said no.
