TAYLOR SWIFT NAMED ULTIMATE CHOICE FOR THE 2011 TEEN CHOICE AWARDS: 20 WAYS YOU’RE GETTING RIPPED OFF
Posted in: Uncategorized
TAYLOR SWIFT NAMED “ULTIMATE CHOICE” FOR THE 2011 TEEN CHOICE AWARDS

Taylor Swift will be honored with the “Ultimate Choice” prize at next month’s 2011 Teen Choice Awards.
Taylor will follow in the footsteps of Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears when she accepts the award for her “extraordinary contributions to the entertainment industry”.
Other past winners include Reese Witherspoon, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Mike Myers and Serena and Venus Williams.
Taylor is also nominated for a bunch of awards at this year’s Teen Choice 2011, including Choice Music: Female Artist and Choice Music: Female Country Artist.
The awards air Sunday, August 7th on Fox.
20 WAYS YOU’RE GETTING RIPPED OFF
1 Graduation Caps and Gowns-They can cost up to $100. Didn’t you already pay enough for your education? Get them used online and save big.
2 Travel sized products-Example: Buy a travel sized bottle of Listerine for $1.99 or get a full 16.8 ounce bottle for $4.99. Your best bet is to buy travel sized containers and fill them from the big bottle.
3 Wedding dresses-When you buy them you need to get them altered, which can end up costing an extra $200. Cut out the middleman and just order from the manufacturer and have it altered yourself.
4 Broadband speeds-You can pay more for faster speed, but most people won’t need it. If there’s a trial run….try it and see if the slower Mbps meets your needs.
5 Many mutual funds-If you’re paying a fee of 1% or higher, you’re probably getting ripped off. There are plenty with fees of .25% or less. Find them and save.
6 Extra frequent Flyer miles-Airlines routinely claim to be sold out of tickets that require fewer miles only to sell you more miles to make up the difference. Don’t get sucked in.
7 Face cleansers-Buying face cream filled with gold or fish eggs has no proven benefit. Avoid it…try soap.
8 Inefficient charities-If you’re going to donate, make sure that the charity uses at least 60% of the donations for program services.
9 Credit reports-You can get charged almost $200 annually to have your credit checked…or you can go with the 3 free ones and stagger them out every 4 months so you’re covered all year. Get details at Annualcreditreport.com
10 Banking fees-Find an online bank without thousands of branches to maintain.
11 Airline Club Memberships-For about $500 a year you get cushy chairs, shorter lines, and peace and quiet at the airport. But you’re getting screwed.
12 College textbooks-They cost the average college student $900 a year. Get better deals online or rent them from chegg.com which is kind of like Netflix for books.
13 Credit card gift cards-They usually charge fees and a lot of times a couple bucks are left on the card and never used. Man up and give cash instead.
14 Reproductive testing-Sure it would be nice to know if you may pass something horrible onto your kid, but a lot of doctors get kickbacks from the testing companies for sending people who don’t need tests their way. Do your homework first.
15 Auto dealer repair services-They may put out donuts and coffee, but they charge way more for their parts and services. Go to a local mechanic and save big.
16 Electronics warranties-A 2 year warranty on a $450 laptop from Best Buy costs about $130…about 29% of the purchase price. Go through a third party and get a longer warranty for less money.
17 Car rentals-Shop around, because sometimes heading out of town and away from the airport can save you over half on a car rental.
18 Caskets-They take advantage of the emotional state at funeral homes and can charge you 4 times the amount you should be paying for a box. Plan ahead and save, even though it’s morbid you’ll save big.
19 Cable TV-You just want basic cable but they want you paying more, so they bundle all kinds of crap with it you don’t want and channels you’ll never watch just to make a buck. Save big with Hulu or Netflix.
20 Prepackaged deli meat-Walk over to the deli counter and have them slice it for you and you could save 43 cents on your lunch meat.

7 THINGS WOMEN DO ON FACEBOOK THAT GUYS HATE: BIG BANG THEORY’S KALEY CUOCO TO HOST TEEN CHOICE
Posted in: Uncategorized
“BIG BANG THEORY’S” KALEY CUOCO TO HOST TEEN CHOICE

Kaley Cuoco, the blonde beauty on CBS’ “The Big Bang Theory,” will host “Teen Choice 2011″, the awards ceremony airing live on August 7 at 8 p.m. ET.
“Wizards of Waverly Place” star Selena Gomez will perform with her band The Scene. (Yes, Justin Bieber will appear at the bash.)
OneRepublic will also perform.
Cuoco will assume hosting duties from Katy Perry, who handled the task last year.
Fox also revealed the nominees for the category of Choice Vampire. They are “Twilight Saga” stars Robert Pattinson and Nikki Reed; “True Blood” favorite Alexander Skarsgard; and Nina Dobrev, Paul Weslay and Ian Somerhalder from the CW series “Vampire Diaries.”
7 THINGS WOMEN DO ON FACEBOOK THAT GUYS HATE
1. Getting All CIA On A Guy–Men hate it when women turn into spies and go digging into their older posts/pictures trying to find dirt. Then, they’ll ask about the women they don’t know. It’s as if they’re trying to catch the guy in some secret affair! Look, if it’s out there for all too see, he’s obviously not hiding anything!
2. Making That Duck Face-Guys cannot stand when women post thousands of goofy faced pictures, especially that fake puckered lips pose. It’s sooooo fake.
3. Opening The Vault–No one wants to know how closely your life resembles the Jerry Springer show. Keep those ugly details to yourself!
4. Writing Man-Hating Status Updates–It’s a huge downer when women vent about men in their status updates, how we’re all liars and cheaters. It’s just not true!
5. Posting Self-Portrait Albums–Men find it really lame when a girl has nothing but pictures of herself on her profile. It makes them think she has no friends. It also seems kind of pathetic and seriously vain.
6. Doing Premature Relationship Publicity-Guys don’t like it when they just start dating someone and she changes her main profile picture to a picture of the two of them together. It’s way too soon.
7. Showing “Artsy” Pictures–What’s with girls posting pictures of their feet these days? Who wants to see gross toes in a picture of a nice pool or an ocean? It makes zero sense.

Justin Bieber Got A “Jesus” Tattoo With His Dad

Justin Bieber got a matching tattoo with his dad. Pictures show Biebs holding his dad’s hand during the whole painful process.
The pics also show the matching tattoo of Jesus’ name written in Hebrew.
Of course, this isn’t Biebs’ first tattoo. He also has a tattoo of a small bird on his waist.
20 HABITS THAT MAKE YOU FAT
FYI… Eating fat won’t make you fat, any more than eating money will make you rich. Calories make you fat, and most “low-fat” or “fat-free” foods actually have just as many calories as their full-fat versions.
Here are the 20 habits you can replace right now:
FAT HABIT #1: Eating “low-fat”
It sounds crazy, but I want you to stop buying foods marketed as low-fat or fat-free. Typically, they save you only a few calories and, in doing so, they replace harmless fats with low-performing carbohydrates that digest quickly-causing a sugar rush and, immediately afterward, rebound hunger.
FAT HABIT #3: Sleeping too little or too much
According to Wake Forest researchers, dieters who sleep five hours or less put on 2½ times more belly fat, while those who sleep more than eight hours pack on only slightly less than that. Shoot for an average of six to seven hours of sleep per night-the optimal amount for weight control.
FAT HABIT #4: Eating free restaurant foods
Breadsticks, biscuits, and chips and salsa may be complimentary at some restaurants, but that doesn’t mean you won’t pay for them. Every time you eat one of Olive Garden’s free breadsticks or Red Lobster’s Cheddar Bay Biscuits, you’re adding an additional 150 calories to your meal. Eat three over the course of dinner and that’s 450 calories.
FAT HABIT #5: Drinking soda-even diet!
A 2005 study found that drinking one to two sodas per day increases your chances of being overweight or obese by nearly 33 percent. And diet soda is no better. Researchers theorize that the artificial sweeteners trigger appetite cues, causing you to unconsciously eat more at subsequent meals.
FAT HABIT #6: Skipping meals
17 percent of Americans admit to skipping meals to lose weight. The problem is, skipping meals actually increases your odds of obesity, especially when it comes to breakfast. A study found that people who cut out the morning meal were 4.5 times more likely to be obese. Why? Skipping meals slows your metabolism and boosts your hunger.
FAT HABIT #7: Eating too quickly
If your body has one major flaw, this is it: It takes 20 minutes for your stomach to tell your brain that it’s had enough. Slow eaters take in 66 fewer calories per meal. If you can do that at every meal, you’ll lose more than 20 pounds a year!
FAT HABIT #8: Watching too much TV
A University of Vermont study found that overweight participants who reduced their TV time by just 50 percent burned an additional 119 calories a day on average. That’s an automatic 12-pound annual loss!
FAT HABIT #9: Ordering the combo meal
A study in the Journal of Public Policy & Marketing shows that compared to ordering a la carte, you pick up a hundred or more extra calories by opting for the “combo” or “value meal.”
FAT HABIT #10: Facing the buffet
Cornell researchers found that when eating at a buffet-style restaurant, obese diners were 15 percent more likely to choose seats with a clear view of the food. Your move: Choose a seat that places your back toward the spread. It will help you avoid fixating on the food.
FAT HABIT #11: Eating off larger plates
One study found that when given an option, a whopping 98.6 percent of obese individuals opt for larger plates. Translation: More food, more calories, and more body fat. Keep your portions in check by choosing smaller serving dishes. If need be, you can always go back for seconds.
FAT HABIT #12: Putting serving dishes on the table
A study in the journal Obesity found that when food is served from the dinner table, people consume 35 percent more over the course of the meal.
FAT HABIT #13: Choosing white bread
A study from the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that when obese subjects incorporated whole grains into their diets, they lost more abdominal fat over the course of 12 weeks.
FAT HABIT #14: Taking big bites
The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that people who took large bites of food consumed 52 percent more calories in one sitting than those who took small bites and chewed longer.
FAT HABIT #15: Not drinking enough water
Adequate water intake is essential for all your body’s functions, and the more you drink, the better your chances of staying thin.
FAT HABIT #16: Having overweight friends
Research shows that when a friend becomes obese, it ups your chance of obesity by 57 percent.
FAT HABIT #17: Eating too late
Your body can burn flab while you sleep, but only if it isn’t too busy processing a full stomach. A new study found that those who ate after 8 p.m. took in the most daily calories and had the highest BMIs.
FAT HABIT #18: Not using a scale
Looking at your body weight reinforces weight-loss goals and makes it difficult to cheat your diet.
FAT HABIT #19: Drinking fruity beverages
Most restaurants and bars have ditched their fresh-fruit recipes in favor of viscous syrups. As a general rule, the more garnishes a drink has hanging from its rim, the worse it is for your waistline.
FAT HABIT #20: Eating when emotional
A study from the University of Alabama found that emotional eaters were 13 times more likely to be overweight or obese.

JUSTIN BIEBER GAVE FANS DETAILS OF HIS SUMMER VACATION
Justin Bieber has plans to take some time off this summer. After spending the last few years touring and recording, he plans to spend the summer like any other 17-year-old.
He said: “I’ve been working so hard, I’m taking a month off. It’s been great to just think and enjoy hanging out with my friends. I’m still growing up, and when you’re working every day, you don’t really get a chance to figure out who you are. So with the time off, I’m able to think, pray and just kind of grow up. For sure I’ll be resting. I’ve been sleeping in a lot.”
As for his favorite thing to do in the summer, Justin said: “Have barbecues. I can barbecue. I mean, I don’t make the sauce very well, but I can grill. No, I can’t cook. I can just grill and stuff.”
